And I *don't* ask for money. Matthew and just about every other book of the NT covers that. Who's the self-esteem-challenged lunatic here, me or the kids? Am I to understand that you give slide shows to groups of willing people? That is, folks come together, sit in uncomfortable chairs, watch a bunch of pictures of starving children and like horrors, and then actually are asked to GIVE money? I am the iconoclast on this one but what sort of person other than a self-esteem-challenged lunatic would attend such a performance? I am a Christian and attend as my spirit requires. And I do give to charity -- about 1/3 of my time as a lawyer is spent on pro bono work for which I receive no credit either from the State Bar or the IRS. And when some fool is stupid enough to ASK me for moeny he will recieve a curt and calm response: "Hell, no!" The first chapters of Matthew cover this, and, yes, I do err by hiding my light beneath a bushel. But I would NEVER attend a nasty show of gory pictures of suffering children for the purpose of having my guilt-function tickled to donate money. Argh!
