I have been using it with a 1Ds + EF 70-200L IS with good results.   
This combination is heavier than the Hasselblad with 50 or 80mm lenses.

Perhaps the 3-section 1227 would be rigid enough?  I can't imagine  
carrying anything much heavier.  Already the 1227/1228 with the B1 are  
quite a burden if you have to walk any distance with them
