Dan, I routinely get some decent oof backgrounds, not coming close to what I 
get with my 35mm sumnmicron, but pretty good, nevertheless.

These were both shot at f2.4 zoomed out to 21mm on my Panasonic Lika-Leica.  
Not Macro.  I was standing closer than I would with a 90mm, maybe 5 feet.
