There is a lot of noise at ISO400 but there are programs to reduce or remove the noise. They work pretty well. The comparison with film is difficult because noise is different from grain. The grain is very noticeable in some ISO400 films but I find Provia 400F to be amazingly grain-free. I don't often use the Digilux at 400. The lens is fast and the camera does a very good job with long exposures. >Thanks again for your comments.
