Urban Legend?  You can have the very expensive piece of toasted Leica
cloth extricated from my "urban legend" M2, which just returned from the
shop with a new curtain after an impromptu roasting.

It can happen if you lay your camera on the car seat facing up, and
the sun comes in the window, or you lay the camera on the picnic table
. . .  Or your kid, working on a science fair project points the ruby
laser into the aperture . . .
