When it happened to me - the camera was hanging on my shoulder while I was working with a different body. So I donšt think the matter should be taken lightly or thought out-of-the ordinary. Since that occurance - Išve either got a cap on the lens or the camera hangs on me with lens facing my body - NEVER out in the sun with the lens uncovered and facing out. I learned my lesson well.
