Not yet. Take apart any digital camera and you'll see why. Lots of 
expensive parts, several circuit boards, flex cable, LCD's, tiny onboard 
switching power supplies, a gazillion switches, etc. Until just recently, 
the profit was negative. Digital cameras were simply a way to hold a 
manufacturers place in the digital market. The current profit margin for 
the manufacturer is minuscule.
