If the pins are at 12 and 6 don't bother sending in the lens. They might fix it by accident! Just send the hood in. Javier PS: This is a common problem with their lenses. My old new 28 Elmarit M had a slight misalignment as does my 35 Summicron R; very annoying. Next thing they'll be telling us the hood is matched to the lens!!!!
