The difference for me is, I never use flash to shoot sports, from table tennis to tractor pulls, given the Leica glass and excellent film, B&W or colour available these days. When you cover the Olympics, Pan Am's, Commonwealth Games you are not allowed to use flash at all.... period! And the first time you fire one the Photo Marshall is on your back like a pitbull in heat and you are out the door. And they don't care if you are shooting for SI or the devil himself, you're toast! So those who are prone to use flash for everything have a very rude awakening when they arrive and read: "NO FLASH PERMITTED AT ANY TIME!" Surprise and I've seen some almost in shock.... "What the hell am I going to do I always use flash. How can you take pictures in here without flash?" etc etc etc whine whine whine. :-) Those who know how, do. Those who don't, whine! ;-) so much for the twinkie kings! :-) ted Ted Grant Photography Limited www.islandnet.com/~tedgrant - ----- Original Message ----- From: "lea" <lea@whinydogpress.com> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 12:49 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] WAS:noctilux halloween now flash on sidelines > > Lea > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ted Grant" <tedgrant@home.com> > To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> > Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 12:31 PM > Subject: Re: [Leica] WAS:noctilux halloween now flash on sidelines > > > > Bill Magness wrote: > > >>> In sports, during competition, I think it's possible that a flash > could > > distract the athlete- causing a missed pass, poor throw etc. I would feel > > bad to have caused this.
