After the "Voigtländer" trademark had been abused long time as a badge for cheapo gear or as second brand for selling through discount/mailorder stores (Rollei), I wonder why Cosina was willing to use that name for their flagship product range. The Bessa T intentially copies design elements of the Leica II/III. In the Japan, these seem to be more affordable (relatively) than Ms and thus are more (relatively) used for actual picture taking. The very problem with a possible 1:1 Leica M copy would be the existing stock of used cameras, endlessly repairable, surprisingly affordable and of superior (subjective) built quality. So the Hexars and Bessas have to be "different" at any cost to draw attention from a saturated market. How many Hexar and Bessa owners have purchased them for curiosity in addition to their Ms?
