Ernie,

I've just sold (this afternoon) a very nice 35/3.5 Summaron which produced
some excellent pictures. I had no use for it but had acquired it at a very
good price. It's classic Leica and petite to use too. Some of these newer
lenses can feel rather larger than I care for.

Howdy - I realize that it's a bit stupid to ask what other people think of
this lens considering that I already own it. I bought it on a whim on a
trip to Toronto from ALT cameras ( nice place for Leica-philes) . I didn't
use it for awhile because my IIIf was being refurbished. I must admit that
I am seriously thinking of mating it with the soon to be released Bessa-R.
I took it out last nite and shot pictures inside - just stuff of the family
using Delta 3200 at 1600. The scanned in and printed stuff was not bad
givent that I was tried to shoot all pics at f/4 or f/3.5. Point sources
of
lite had a nice Halo around them - probably would have a hard time getting
the same effect with 35 ASPH. The serial # puts it's production at 1951. I
dare say for two objects ( it and me) of ~same vintage it does a better job
of working than me. :) anyway what are other peoples thoughts about this
lens.
