No to the first, yes to the second.

There is a huge myth about the late SS's above 1,000,000, but, like many
photo myths, it is a myth.  Probably the best-build M3's are the epic
"First 10,000" DS's, as Leitz exercized very careful QA on this run.
Probably the best buy are the very late DS's, as the collectors seem to
have passed these puppies by.
