The "why Leica?" subject line brings to mind a story Walter Benser (author of 
several great Leica books, creator of the Benser plate and Benser bags, and 
early Leica lecturer and who worked with Oskar Barnack, Paul Wolff, etc.) 
would tell about one of his first jobs at Leitz back in the thirties.  He was 
assigned the task of writing a small publication promoting the Leica entitled 
"Why Leica?"  This has since become a great collector's item and extolled the 
virtues of the early Leica over its competition.  With his sharp wit, his 
first response to the title of this publication was "Why Not Contax?"
