I use it at the minimum focusing distance. this is about 1m . Often there is a low light level and I have to use it fairly wide open. With the M3 or M4, I never had any problems with the focus. Just be a bit careful, when focusing. If there is nothing wrong with your camera, then you should not have any problems focusing.
