If anyone has one of these lenses in black-paint and in Mint condition, preferably in its original box, please email or give me a call (see my web site). This is for my personal collection. I didn't know this item has been discussed in such length until someone forwarded a part of the discussion to me. I deal in quality Leica equipment and other photographic equipment and have a web site at http://www.jimmytong.com. Thanks, Jimmy - ---------- : From: Robert Rose <rjr@usip.com> : To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us : Subject: [Leica] Weird price on eBay for 50/1.4 : Date: Thursday, June 17, 1999 21:33 : : I know Arnold Kaufman very well. He is an astute Leica collector, and the owner of several fabulous items. This is undoubtedly a black-paint sample. He knows what is he doing. : : Curiously, I have a user version of the same lens, for which I paid $400, or $2,755 less than Arnold paid for his lens. On the other hand, I intend to use mine. : : Bob Rose
