IMHO, it's a mistake to say that ANY automatic camera, let alone a G2, is
faster than a Leica M for anyone but a novice with no understanding of
Leica-M technique.

As you're stalking your prey -- never taking your eyes off it -- you're
prefocusing and setting aperture and shutter. You have your viewfinder
masking imprinted on your brain. At the decisive moment, you have only to
raise the camera to check framing and click. If you have more time, sure --
fine-tune the focus. You can still do it faster than a G2, ferchrissake.
But if your aperture gives you enough hyperfocal distance to play with, why
mess? Standard Leica-M technique. Works best, of course, with print film
because of the exposure lattitude, but it still works fine with chromes.
Slower on the street than a G2? -- no way Jose.
