Subject: [Leica] Leicaflex price drops

In stopping by a fairly well known Leica dealer in Milwaulkee I noticed
a fair number of Leicaflex SL's for sale at cheapo prices. These were
decent user cameras for 200-250. I asked why they seemed so cheap and
the dealer said the market has dropped out on these cameras. According
to him my own SL, in near mint condition along with a "user" condition
50 summicron was worth about 375-400 at retail.

Has anyone else seen this drop? These cameras were typically in the
350-550 range for the body alone! Since I am not selling I guess I
would be happy if some of the collector driven prices dropped back.

Is this the case with other equipment? I have been pricing good
condition SM bodies and was amazed at how HIGH they are now. I would
love to see the M market deflate to the point where I can actually
afford more than one!

Has the asian colletor market dried up?

thanks for any input
Dan
