As to lenses not to mount on a Leica CL, you wrote, in part:

On my CL, the 90/2 fits and has no rear projections to damage the meter
arm, but it starts to obscure the rangefinder patch once you begin
focusing closer than infinity. At the closest focus, all but the upper
left corner of the rangefinder patch is blocked. I suspect that this,
and the fact that the rangefinder magnification and base length are
reliable only to about f/4 on a 90mm lens, are behind the recommendation
against the 90/2.

Anybody have an idea as to the 135/4, other than that the rangefinder
isn't likely to be up to the task (and the lack of frame lines)?
