Hi Pete,

I feel they have too big a reputation to diddle the world like that and if
ever caught, I have no doubt the international photo community would dump
on them from great heights. It would ruin the reputaion built all these
many years. To even contemplate it, is tantamount to lunacy!

I realize there are some unscrupulous manufacturers in the world who might
attempt this or even do it, as you suggested out of the Silicon Valley! I
would be extremely surprised if this thought ever crossed the minds of
people in Solms.

It just isn't the German "cup of tea" so's to speak! I fully beleive your
case of two flawed lenses back to back was a "one in a million" that occur
in sending equipment to the same purchaser. Considering the number of
Leica owners in the world, the odds must be astronomical.

Sorry Pete, I'll give whole hearted support to Leica that this situation
was merely slow days on the part of quality control staff.
