Once again I'll cast a vote for a late, clean, coated Summitar (f/2) which
despite the godawful barndoor "official" lens shade is no mean performer.

I did once have a BM Summarit which served as my poor man's Summilux until
the dreaded internal haze appeared.  It produced some pictures under
challenging photographic conditions (1/15th at wide wide open on
Tri-X) which remain meaningful to me and which in some cases are damned
difficult to print.  Even though I callously tossed mine into the hands of
a dealer, it still has a place in my heart.
