Particularly the M3 since the > finder is full frame 50. Peter - I have an M3 with both of the lenses mentioned above. The Summilux is nice for low light on rare occasions, but is not as sharp as any of my Summicron lenses. It is the "early" Summilux before it was reformulated in 1961, so versions after serial# 184401 may be better (ref Laney, Leica Collectors Guide). My Summicron is the Dual Range model, a feature that wasn't my original reason for getting the lens, but has become a nice bonus (make sure a used DR purchase includes "finder" or "goggles" with the lens). From distant landscapes to detailed closeups, performance is outstanding. The chrome version really makes a handsome combination on an M3, too. My chrome Summilux makes an even more impressive looking instrument, but usually sits on the shelf because the Summicron produces better negs and slides. Gary Todoroff
