I just wonder if you live in an absolutely perfect world where an error of judgement isn't ever made? Or are you like the rest of us, normal and accept the possible "human error" factor occaisionaly? Quite frankly this happened because in the mind of the originator of the initial fax trying to be a responsible corporate person to their customers and to avoid any possible further damage. The first decision was based on the findings of a camera that came in for servicing and it appeared the damage ""MIGHT"" have been done by a "cam". Therefore before the results from an immediate extensive testing was completed, the errant fax made it's way into the world with everyone of the R8 owners kinda holding their breathe and wildly checking all their lenses! -- me included!!!! So a minor misjudgement and sure it caused some anguish, but this seems to be in your eyes, they are damned if they did & damned if they didn't. And by the way do you own an R8? If not, you should buy one they are quite an incredible camera, in case you hadn't noticed! :) ted Victoria, Canada http://www.islandnet.com/~tedgrant
