The Nikon lens needs to be 18mm from the flange on the screw body to the lens mount. I arrived at this by measuring the distances between the film plane and the (front of the) lens mount on the body of the leica screw and Nikon (FM2) cameras. It could easily be done with a screw extension tube epoxyed to a modified Nikon back cap. The hard part is making it couple properly for non-wideangles with limited hyper-focal setting is harder. I got the idea from a friend who made a "sheimfluge" adapter to get more DOF on a Pentax 6x7 lens at close range by modifying a body and back cap to make an adapter thats tilt the lens. Of course that was for an SLR. Any insights, or life-threatening comments on this? Thanks, Mark Eastman meastman@adobe.com Replied: 4 Jun 92 22:16
