>>> I have visited Alsace several time, both when I lived in Belgium in the 1990s (long drive) and especially later, when I lived in Switzerland (short drive), and more recently in connection with business trips to Strasbourg. There are many good reasons to visit this part of France, some of which are:
>>>
>>> - Philippe and Alice live there
>>> - the Riesling and the Gewurztraminer
>>> - the choucroute
>>> - the pictoresque towns like Riquewihr
>>> - the Christmas market in Strasbourg
>>> - the lovely landscapes
>>> - did I mention the Riesling?
>>>
>>> In general, I sometimes jokingly say that when it comes to food, Alsace is my favourite part of France: French quality combined with German quantity. What could be better?
>>>
>>> Cheers and bon appétit!
