I am also always surprised by the helpings, be in the Alacian part of the family, at friends, or at restaurants. But it’s true I’m so skinny …

As part of your Alsacian culture, and to impress the boss. Prosit/Cheers/Saude, Campai, etc. is said: Es gilt! (it counts/matters) looking at the other party dwellers right in the eyes in turn, and clinging each of their glasses against yours. I would not do it with champagne at large family parties when I met Alice. I feared the bubbles would have been shaken away ;-) My father in law resented it. to please him, I now drink my champagne … still :-(

Remember, no mention of the wine!
