Well Chris,
IF I WERE STILL EARNING MY LIVING INCOME IN PHOTOJOURNALISM? I MOST
CERTAINLY WOULDN'T BE USING LEICA'S Given all the published stories these
days on screen! COST and TECHIE NONSENSE! Over blown fixing?
"I'VE USED LEICAS SINCE THE EARLY '50's.Multi models and versions of many
types and always 6 various bodies and lenses at a time!!!
TODAY??????
1/ I COULDN'T AFFORD THEM?
2/ I COULDN'T COPE CARRYING THEM AROUND THE WORLD WORRYING THEY'D BREAK
DOWN? Or WHATEVER IT IS THE CREW POINTS OUT THEIR CONSISTANT BREAKDOWNS AND
OTHER STUPID TECHIE CRAP that doesn't appear to work all that well!
There is one thing that's killing LEICA and will do so? "KISS!"
The early digi Leica cameras without too much digi techie crap? Worked very
well! I never had a problem! I still have 2 M8's and they work like a dream!
Now I've said that I trust they just keep right on clicking without a
problem?
THEN THE "TECHIE ENGINEERS" became carried away and forgot the most
important thing about all the whiz bang cameras? KISS!
"keep them simple stupid!" Oh I don't mean for one iota that they not be
digital? OF COURSE THEY HAVE TO BE!COMPETION DICTATED THAT! But techie folks
became "over techie folks" as the design engineers over did it without any
experience as photojournalists on the street and just completely over did
all the techie stuff you lads keep pointing out seem to be a problem??? M9
ETC?
I well understand the client and requiring images as fast as you shoot them.
But the techie crap can slow you down if it becomes over whelming. My good
fortune so far has been my digi-Leica m8's HAVE WORKED LIKE A DREAM WITHOUT
ANY PROBLEMS.
OK that's it and I'll keep my fingers crossed they keep right on clicking!
cheers,
Dr. Ted Grant O.C.

Well this techie bit needs the digital for work. The State Dept or Congress
wants images "now" or I don't get paid. 20 week wait on an M9 sensor sucks
period.
