[Leica] Nathan's PAD 13/8/2017: the Muchavista market

Hi Nathan,

The tomatoes do look great. My neighbor tells me that commercially
grown tomatoes have been bred to last in the marketplace. Gone are the
fresh smell and the bruising that leads to earlier spoilage, but also
the old-time taste. My point of reference goes back to the Oxheart and
Marglobe tomatoes of the 1930s, both now classed as heirloom tomatoes.

It is held every Thursday and Sunday, and it is totally non-posh—just a few stands in a large parking lot. Most of the produce is locally grown, and while it does not always look supermarket-perfect, it tastes better and is far cheaper than the plastic-wrapped variety. Four images follow.
