Yes, I like your vintage albums. My first visit to Barcelona was some time in the late 1990s, and I think the Rambla has become more touristy since then, although it already was to some degree back then.

Un abrazo,
Nathan

The only swindlers at that time was “los Trilleros”, the Bars was not so expensive, at that time it was too more pickpockets than now, for us, the Barcelona people who have known the old Rambla now is only nostalgia. Myself in the 80’s and 90’s if I shall go everywhere if it was possible I preferred go through La Rambla, today is absolutely the contrary, I try to go in another way. Same thing with La Boqueria market, every day there are less local sellers and the streets you mention around La Rambla are changing too very fast… this is probably the sign of all the cities of the World….

>> Nice. You can see similar tertulias in Alicante, on the Esplanada de España, a pedestrian street running along the waterfront in the centre. Even the fixed chairs are the same!

>> I love Barcelona, but I must confess that La Rambla is not my favourite place there. Too many tourist traps, too many Russian swindlers, just too tacky. However, one can dive into the side streets and 100 m away there is a different world.
