I do call and talk to the Leica repair people and am always very, very appreciative. I write them little notes and send them postcards and photos. I do think it pays to be really nice to the people who are repairing your equipment. They know who I am and know they will get feedback from me. Maybe that is what makes a difference. Leica used to have a professional division with expedited service. You had to send in tearsheets to show that you were a working pro using Leicas. That hasn't been active for quite a few years now. I think they are appealing to the Leica as jewelry people with their ads and campaigns, but the actual people who work in the repair labs still respect those of us who actually use the cameras.
