A take no prisoners make the best policy. I?m ok with it. Specs second to none. I think when you are paying tens of thousands for a lens you don?t want to find out about another lens with better specs. Do wrist exercises. They now make SL glass big because they can. On the M they could not they were constrained . On the R they could but it never got no respect. They were held back by the viewfinder constraints of the rangefinder cameras since day one or the early 1930?s when viewfinders and rangefinders were built into the tops of the cameras. I think the SL system will dominate Leica sales and use in 4 or 5 years and the M system become quite minor. I think the SL camera though costing many thousands but then not spend all the time in the shop is going to be scooped up by many of the best photogs who are a bit more capitalized or more successful. Not just the Ferrari crowd. It?s going to make Leica a contender again. Instead of the near bum it?s gotten to be making very pricey gear you never get back from the shop. Quicker, quiet, and extremely precise as they stop immediately for all practical purposes. If you go back to the Lensrental blogs you can see how single focal length glass is better with lower individual unit deviation, so I am glad that the major optical houses are offering really good single focal length glass. Really, with the M adapters you have your choice; small light and M glass, or autofocus and a much larger lens of "equal" optical quality. Other than price who is against choice.
