They chose Vespas and Lambrettas to do their cruising, and the machines were often festooned with custom chromed touches and all seemed to have multi-toned hornets. The prize decoration on these stud machine often was a beautiful girl riding side-saddle behind her guy. For a young Americano having landed solidly in puberty, I lusted for both the machines and the gals who deftly rode the back seats.
