[Leica] Wednesday Weeds

I'm guessing Jay refers to the lovely shot of ripe okra, a staple in
Louisiana Creole cooking too.

The word "gumbo" means okra, even though there are many varieties of gumbo
without it.

My father's favorite vegetable by far, he grew it in his garden and often
would cut it into discs, roll them through cornmeal for a minimal coating
and fry them up.

Another favorite way here is to stew okra with tomatoes and onion with a
dash of cumin, salt and black pepper.
