I believe they handled Acros a bit better.  The real issue is they are just
flat.  You might try one more roll with them and ask for +1 development if
they offer it.  Most commercial labs are using something like FG7 which
doesn't cause them issues with over development or other catastrophic
failures as most people accept a softer image over soot and chalk.

I admire you, I have gifted all my darkroom stuff to a cooperative in
Atlanta so hopefully it is being used to good effect.
