Not so sure what they will do here, but....Reported by Leica Rumors

Leica's CEO Matthias Harsch announced that Leica will build "a competence
center for Computational Imaging in California's Silicon Valley":
"We stand by the transition from analogue to digital photography beginning
of 2000, now 19 years later before the second digital revolution in the
camera and optics industry," says Matthias Harsch, CEO of Leica Camera AG.
Topics such as "Computational Imaging" - so if images indirectly from
measurements generated by algorithms using - will significantly impact the
photograph so Harsch on. Therefore, Leica Camera AG build as part of
securing the future on, among other things, a competence center for
"Computational Imaging" in California's Silicon Valley. (Google translation)
