Amen Ted! I mostly lurk here these days (I don?t have to spend all day in
front of a computer now that I'm retired) but treasure my membership
nevertheless. This group really is family and I cherish the friendships
that developed over the years of my participation here and in many LUG and
LHSA meetings. Getting to know you, Ted, and Tina, and many, many others
has enriched my life and greatly enhanced my enjoyment of photography.

As to how to get back to the ethos of before, that?s a harder question and
I?m not sure limiting the discussion to Leica gear is the answer given the
current prices of new equipment and the virtual non-exitance of an
affordable market in used digital gear.

Maybe it lies in the establishment of more local Leica User Groups (I?d love
to have one here in Boston), maybe in establishing a rule that discussions
here have to be in some way Leica related. Whatever it is, it's worth
thinking about.

Maybe, too, more of us will drift back to Leica. I have. I bought a Leica Q
last March. The exuberant US stock market last year made me feel
sufficiently flush to buy it. And, the results from it are spectacular, of
course. When I showed my first 11x17 prints from it at my local
Photoshop-oriented photo group, they were astonished by the luscious tonal
quality of the prints. How did you do that? How did you process the
images? Good grief! They *are* magical!

Leica still reigns.

Nice talking to you all again.

Dick
