Hi Chris,
Well my son far better to look after yourself than a photo. Sorry to hear
about the stroke in such a young chap as yourself.
cheers and best wishes,
Dr. Ted Grant C.M.

I did some photos like that of the other rides at the fair, but it didn?t
work well for the Ferris Wheel.

I couldn?t take a tripod with me. When I got there earlier, it was too
crowded, and in any case I couldn?t have carried it around anyway. I am in
very poor health now. I had a stroke in 2013 that left me with the right
side of my body weakened, and I tire quickly. I don?t do any work with a
tripod that requires a long walk from my car anymore; I just can?t do it.

I was able to get good motion shots of other rides because they moved so
fast that even at hand-holdable speeds (1/15, 1/10 of second) they still
gave magnificent streaks of colored lights. This ferris wheel moved VERY
slow, so that the motion shots I tried to do with it looked unsharp
without looking like motion. It was ugly. With a tripod and a long
exposure, it might have worked.

A couple weeks earlier at the Three Rivers Festival in Fort Wayne, I did
get some nice motion pics of the Ferris Wheel, as that one moved faster
than the one at the Elkhart Fair. As in Elkhart, I did the photos at the
TRF handheld because I couldn?t carry a tripod a long distance.
