I prefer the square format.  To my eye, the rectangular includes too much of 
the foreground floor stones. Plus, the vertical windows and the 
near-vertical shadow already adds enough vertical element.  The vertical 
rectangle makes too much vertical.  Just my opinion.  Nice images either way.
