Very sorry to hear that, Herb. Glad that you're ok and that you met 
kindness. From the sound of the accident, they don't call people blind drunk 
for nothing. Keep driving yourself if you can as Uber, etc., don't cut the 
mustard for life control at all times.

As for driving without lights, it's a factor in modern cars that when you 
tum on the engine the dash lights up, even though the car's lights are not 
turned on. I've pulled off in street lighting a couple of times, forgetting 
that the lights' auto sensor was turned off, and thinking the car's lights 
were on. Then I've been flashed by someone coming in the opposite direction. 
Oops! and I wasn't blind drunk!!
