JIm,
All consumer monitors are set in the factory for viewing movies and playing
games, which is way too bright, and contrasty. I calibrate my monitors
every fortnight (because settings have a tendency to drift off), it seems
to be the only proper solution that I could find! I use a Spyder 4, but
actually anything would do, they all give decent enough results for viewing.
