Lightroom is not capable of giving the tonal separation that you get from Bw film just from manipulating the color channel relationships. If you're happy with it, that's fine. I spent twenty years making exhibition prints in the darkroom and I will not accept anything less than that level of quality from a digital conversion. Photoshop allows greater amounts of manipulation than Lightroom, so it can be made to give a good conversion, but as my tutorial shows, it is hard work.
