I think someone on LUF found the same, mine showed up on new firmware - at 
least I think it did, so many settings had been overwritten by it :-(

Perhaps the USofA has fallen out with the western island?

Hmm I just now have the multifunction grip and I installed the new
firmware. The GPS option is greyed out in the Setup menu with no apparent
means to activate it.
