I was at B&H Photo recently where the Panasonic GM1, on display in the
compact camera section, caught my eye. The GM1 is an impressive miniature
camera, incorporating the GX7's 16 MP MFT sensor in a body that is about
the same as the Sony RX 100; the Panasonic kit zoom is, naturally, larger
than the fixed lens on the RX 100. Nevertheless, the GM1+ kit zoom combo is
small enough to fit comfortably in a standard pocket - I know because I
tried it. About the only feature it lacks is an eye level finder, perhaps a
future GM2 will have one. Controls were a bit fiddly, but one could get used
to them.

The GM1 is remarkable piece of kit; a large(r) sensor, carry anywhere
interchangeable lens camera not much bigger than the RX100. I'm not in the
market for a pocket sized camera, but if I were, this would be my choice.
