Subject: [Leica] Anyone here tried Platinum printing?

I love my Epson prints the fact that the rez does not match up to my silver
prints does not bother me. We're all not looking at them with a loupe. High
rez is nice to get but its not a deal breaker on a successful print process
or not. That the previous process was silver prints and that that process is
one of the higher rez ones is circumstance.
A platinum print is traditionally made as a contact print but later on down
the line many got their workflo down enlarging their 4x5's to 8x10 or 11x14.
They were still rich and dark and sharp. Long thought of as the apogee of of
all photo printing processes.
This stuff make from inkjets I see none of it rich and dark and sharp.
The lowest common denominator is the rez you get from the inkjet print from
which the platinum prints are made.. And that really insults the entire
process. It's a waste of rare metals if you ask me.
8x10 view cameras can be gotten for a song now. That would be my first buy
if I got into platinum printing. It was a big enough size for EW: Edward
Weston its a big enough size for me. And EW made plenty of platinum prints
from them. there is an amazing integrity these prints have. Totally not
there with one made from an inkjet.
