Cameras never outgrow the specific application for which they are bought. Our expectations, or specs may change, but the camera is always what it was, new. I am a believer ( like Nathan) in last years' technology, post depreciation, post fashion consciousness, past hipster madness. I don't make my living off this stuff, so even my D1x ($250 when I got it about 3 years ago) is a good camera for me. $7K????? not in my lifetime....
