I believe it has to do with a person's eyes... contrast, brightness, etc.
YMMV is very applicable here.....

I am used to focusing with a Hasselblad ground glass... no problems.  But
that is tripod mounted, with a magnifier.... the SLR thing is a bit
different....

In any event, the A7 is high on my want list, but I will probably wait till
Nikon makes a similar functionality camera.... then my lenses can be focused
while wide open.... and smaller apertures used for actual capture.

It will be interesting to see how the A7 works for me....

Hi Frank,

My slowest Manual lens is 55/f3.5 and i find it very easy to focus on the
D4.  Even stopped down to f5.6 it focusses quite easy on the D4 manually.
Sorry to hear the D4 did not work out for you.

Good luck with the Sony A7.
