Thank you Ted.
The incredibly lax requirements for this non-judged book have remained
constant since 2007: you may submit any camera, any lens, and
film/sensor/filter/processor, so long as the submitted image is at least
one meg in size and .jpg format (essential for getting it to print in the
blurb.com software) and within the calendar year of the call for images.
Since this December is in 2013, that's the year.

Over the years I've found that those who want to participate will find
reasons to send two images; those who do not will find reasons why they
can't. If there is sufficient participation--I've always set the bar at a
minimum of thirty contributors by December 31st--I produce a book. If
not, I don't. In recent years we've had between 100 and 130 contributors
for the book, from around the globe. Images have ranged from grandkids in
the backyard to combat photos to glamour photography to nature shots to
urban decay--with almost everything else in between.

It is open to all comers, so even if you're shy about submitting images
you've created in 2013, I would think that you have friends/associates who
are eager to participate if they knew about the project.

Again, for every book purchased (and NO purchase is ever necessary, only
available) $7 goes to Project H.O.M.E. in Philadelphia, an organization
that provides shelter, medical care, and vocational training for homeless
individuals.

Jim

Ladies & Gentlemen I have just looked at a few of these posts! There is an
obvious error please take note!

A CORRECTION IS OBVIOUSLY REQUIRED!
Every book from the first has only photos accepted for the year of the
book date.
IE: 2013 book? Regardless of how great a photo maybe or shot in 2012??????
It's tough titty..... It isn't available for use in the year 2013! Don't
even consider challenging it! If you wish to cheat on your buddies and
friends all well and good! Just don't let us find out! Let's keep it fair
as fair.

These "rules as such." have been accepted each year as photos shot in the
date year of the book! Not before nor after. The only changes from the
very first book project started by Dr. Alistair Firkin when the photo had
to be shot with a Leica and in the same year. But that was changed after
the LEICA manufacturing people started charging for Leica's above and
beyond the abilities of many members of the CREW! So some leaway occured!

When the cost factor became a problem in " Leica only photos would be
accepted or a LEICA lens adapted to any old camera box." Then Jim threw
the door open to any old camera at all! Fair enough because in the hearts
of all, we were and are LEICA Crew!

But the year the image was taken was always the year of the immediate
year.
As this latest book is 2013! AND ONLY IMAGES FROM 2013 SHOULD BE
SUBMITTED.
It's so simlple and logical what the heck is yer problem?

I can't understand why this "year topic even raised it's head?" Given it's
been the standard for close to 8 years and never been discussed before?

SO AS OF THIS DAY 5 DECEMBER 2013 IT DIES HERE AND NOW!

Forget it! DO YOU KNOW WHAT'S FAR MORE IMPORTANT RIGHT NOW?????

Sending your photos in! For heavan sake every year I have told you the
extremely simple method for selecting two book images!

January 1 / 2013 open a folder on your desktop labelled "BOOK 2013." then
as you shoot your way through the year and you are extremely excited about
a frame that might go in the book? Then save it in the 2013 book folder."
So now you have the "exciting images saved in one spot without looking all
over your files trying to find a couple of "COOL" book photos.

And it doesn't matter how wonderful your image maybe from 2012? It's
tough beans you missed the 2012 boat/book! And if you have one for 2013?
AND YOU MISS THIS YEARS 2013 BOAT? TOUGH TITTY THAT'S LIFE! GET OVER IT!
JUST DON'T EVEN BRING ANY CONVERSATION UP ABOUT SUBMITTING IT FOR 2014!

I do believe this is as correct as it was laid out originally 8 years
ago.
??????????

I'd like to leave you with how great each of our book projects have been
in illustrating the incredible talents within this LUG CREW! I see this
minor question as a complete non-issue other than staying with "images of
the year in the book have only photos from the same year!"

Jim if you would like to make a comment regarding this topic? Thank you.

May we rest in peace on this "year SUBMISSION subject!' Thank you all.
cheers,
Dr. Ted Grant.
