[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Nathan there is processing done in the camera in the first place and your Raw Converter (you are shooting raw?) has to process the data to make it viewable as a 'normal' viewable to our eyes image too. So some default developing has to be taking place even if you are not applying and settings at all. Amplifying the darks in an underexposed image (and altering contrast?) is applying further developing settings and those MAY be responsible for making processing artefacts more visible. Again noise is the classic example of that but banding can be too. You can go ahead and try that new card of course. No harm in that at all. If you like I would be happy to look at an original file for you too if that would provide any clues. I seem to remember too that you are working with an early version of LR/PS as well? There were improvements to the processing engine later as well. In your position I would then be talking to Leica Camera as well with samples. Just my thoughts and suggestions.
