I loved Peru! We spent a month there, staying most of the time in Cusco in
an apartment we found on Craigslist ($100 a week). We rented a car and
drove all over Peru with no problems. We had planned to drive down along
the coast and back through the mountains, but some of the mountain roads
left a lot to be desired - not just rough but impassable. Machu Pichu is
much larger than I thought, requiring lots of climbing and walking. The
hike up Huana Pichu was one of the most strenuous hikes I've ever done but
the views are worth it. I would carry every lens you can.

Here are some of mine: http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/image/109814855
forward and backward through this whole gallery.

I'd be glad to answer any more questions, if I can.
