NEW ASSIGNMENT TOPIC? DUE 17 AUG, 2013

A CHOICE:
1/ REFLECTIONS.

2/ COLOR BLUE.

It isn't necessary you shoot something on both, however be my guest if you
wish to do so. One or the other is fine.

In case some of you think this is a great big pain in the butt. Actually to
complete in a week it's a piece of cake!

This was many evenings of assignments back in the 1950's working as a
news-paper news photographer.

Between 6pm (shooting first 6pm assignment and last of the 6-7 you were
assigned between 6pm and usually midnight. Then return with your 4X5 Speed
Graphic dozen or more sheets of film. Soup same, print negs, as you selected
for immediate printing. Then writing captions for each. Then deliver prints
to the City desk as soon as possible by mid-night!

Oh yeah, if you were the key shooter that evening, it meant not only did you
soup negs, you printed them, washed and dried all your own. But also all and
everything from possibly 3 or 4 other's out shooting the same night! The
others of course just shot their assignment and went home. You finished
everything left.

But dang it was a fantastic life of photography. :-) Rarely a dull moment at
anytime of the day or night as the subject situations changed faster than
you could spit some days and nights! :-)

So when on the LUG you have a week to shoot some simple topic, thank your
fairy God-mother you only have one in a week! :-)

Now let's get out there and do it! :-)
Quite frankly I think those making the effort are doing a damn fine job! At
least they're game for the effort and surprising results of imagination and
effort!

Thank you all.
cheers,

Dr. ted :-)
