I'm not waxing nostalgic - I'm using the R system, with pleasure, almost 
daily.
I have a good deal of respect for the entire system;
and accept that the system's upgrade path has come to an end.

The issue remains whether the company properly prepared to service their 
premium hardware;
and serve their customers.
